Psalm 16
A Prayer of David.
Hearken, O Lord, unto my righteousness, attend unto my supplication. Give ear unto my prayer, which cometh not from deceitful lips.

From before Thy face let my judgement come forth, let mine eyes behold uprightness.
3
Thou hast proved my heart, Thou hast visited it in the night, Thou hast tried me by fire, and unrighteousness was not found in me.
4
That my mouth might not speak of the works of men, for the sake of the words of Thy lips have I kept the ways that are hard.
5
Set my footsteps in Thy paths, that my steps may not be shaken.
6
I have cried for Thou hast hearkened unto me, O God. Incline Thine ear unto me, and hearken unto my words.
7
Let Thy mercies be made wonderful, O Thou that savest them that hope in Thee.
8
From them that have resisted Thy right hand, keep me, O Lord, as the apple of Thine eye.
9
In the shelter of Thy wings wilt Thou shelter me, from the face of the ungodly which have oppressed me.
10
Mine enemies have surrounded my soul, they have enclosed themselves with their own fat, their mouth hath spoken pride.
11
They that cast me out have now encircled me, they have set their eyes to look askance on the earth.
12
They have taken me as might a lion ready for his prey, and as might a lion's whelp that dwelleth in hiding.
13
Arise, O Lord, overtake them and trip their heels; deliver my soul from ungodly men, Thy sword from the enemies of Thy hand.
14
O Lord, from Thy few do Thou separate them from the earth in their life; yea, with Thy hidden treasures hath their belly been filled.
15
They have satisfied themselves with swine and have left the remnants to their babes.
16
But as for me, in righteousness shall I appear before Thy face; I shall be filled when Thy glory is made manifest to me.

A Psalm of David.
Unto Thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul.

O my God, in Thee have I trusted; let me never be put to shame, nor let mine enemies laugh me to scorn.
3
Yea, let none that wait on Thee be put to shame; let them be ashamed which are lawless without a cause.
4
Make Thy ways, O Lord, known unto me and teach me Thy paths.
5
Lead me in Thy truth and teach me, for Thou art God my Saviour; for on Thee have I waited all the day long.
6
Remember Thy compassions; O Lord, and Thy mercies, for they are from everlasting.
7
The sins of my youth and mine ignorances remember not; according to Thy mercy remember Thou me, for the sake of Thy goodness, O Lord.
8
Good and upright is the Lord; therefore will He set a law for them that sin in the way.
9
He will guide the meek in judgement, He will teach the meek His ways.
10
All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth, unto them that seek after His covenant and His testimonies.
11
For the sake of Thy name, O Lord, be gracious unto my sin; for it is great.
12
Who is the man that feareth the Lord? He will set him a law in the way which He hath chosen.
13
His soul shall dwell among good things, and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14
The Lord is the strength of them that fear Him, and His covenant shall be manifested unto them.
15
Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord, for He it is that will draw my feet out of the snare.
16
Look upon me, and have mercy on me; for I am one only-begotten and poor.
17
The afflictions of my heart are multiplied; bring me out from my necessities.
18
Behold my lowliness and my toil, and forgive all my sins.
19
Look upon my enemies, for they are multiplied, and with an unjust hatred they have hated me.
20
Keep my soul and rescue me; let me not be put to shame, for I have hoped in Thee.
21
The innocent and the upright have cleaved unto me, for I waited on Thee, O Lord.
22
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his afflictions.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy; and according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgression.

Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3
For I know mine iniquity, and my sin is ever before me.
4
Against Thee only have I sinned and done this evil before Thee, that Thou mightest be justified in Thy words, and prevail when Thou art judged.
5
For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother bear me.
6
For behold, Thou hast loved truth; the hidden and secret things of Thy wisdom hast Thou made manifest unto me.
7
Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be made clean; Thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow.
8
Thou shalt make me to hear joy and gladness; the bones that be humbled, they shall rejoice.
9
Turn Thy face away from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
11
Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me.
12
Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation, and with Thy governing Spirit establish me.
13
I shall teach transgressors Thy ways, and the ungodly shall turn back unto Thee.
14
Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation; my tongue shall rejoice in Thy righteousness.
15
O Lord, Thou shalt open my lips, and my mouth shall declare Thy praise.
16
For if Thou hadst desired sacrifice, I had given it; with whole-burnt offerings Thou shalt not be pleased.
17
A sacrifice unto God is a broken spirit; a heart that is broken and humbled God will not despise.
18
Do good, O Lord, in Thy good pleasure unto Sion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be builded.
19
Then shalt Thou be pleased with a sacrifice of righteousness, with oblation and whole-burnt offerings.
20
Then shall they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.

O Thalelaeus, thou didst defeat idolatrous error by thy martyr's contest. * Thou wast a treasury of healing, * freely curing all who run to thy church with faith * and who cry out with love: * Glory to Him Who has strengthened thee; glory to Him Who has made thee wonderful; * glory to Him Who through thee works healings for all.
Troparion Of Saints Nicetas, John And Joseph Of Chios - The 1st Tone
Come you faithful who love these blessed men of God; * let us thankfully hymn the three holy Fathers, righteous Nicetas, John and Joseph. * They are the adornment and praise of the ascetics of Chios, * and they ever intercede with the Trinity for us.

Save, O Lord, Thy people, and bless Thine inheritance; grant Thou unto the faithful victory over adversaries. And by the power of Thy Cross do Thou preserve Thy commonwealth.

O Theotokos; thou art the true vine that hath blossomed forth the Fruit of life. Thee do we supplicate: Intercede, O Lady, together with the Apostles and all the Saints that our souls find mercy.
Blessed is the Lord God, blessed is the Lord day by day; the God of our salvation shall prosper us along the way; our God is the God of salvation.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.

Thou wast a fellow athlete with the martyrs, O Thalelaeus, * and didst become a soldier of the King of glory. * Thou didst trample on the idolater's pride * through thy trials and torments. * Wherefore we praise thy memory.

Let us now bless the three holy Fathers, * for they disdained the world and dwelt in mountains and caves. * As you possess heavenly gifts send us grace from on high, * that we may sing: Rejoice, O righteous Fathers.
Blessed art Thou, O Christ our God, Who hast shown forth the fishermen as supremely wise by sending down upon them the Holy Spirit, and through them didst draw the world into Thy net. O Befriender of man, glory be to Thee.

Grant Thou speedy and lasting consolation unto Thy servants, O Jesus, when our spirits are despondent. Be Thou not parted from our souls when they be in affliction; be Thou not far from our minds when we are in perils, but do Thou ever anticipate our needs. Draw nigh unto us, draw nigh, O Thou Who art everywhere present, and even as Thou art ever with Thine Apostles, thus do Thou also unite unto Thyself us who long for Thee, O Compassionate One, that being united with Thee, we may praise and glorify Thine All-holy Spirit.

The hope and protection and refuge of Christians, the unassailable battlement, the storm-free haven of the weary art thou, O immaculate Theotokos. But as thou savest the world by thine unceasing intercession, remember us also, O all-hymned Virgin.

Thou Who at all times and at every hour, in Heaven and on earth, art worshipped and glorified, O Christ God, Who art long-suffering, plenteous in mercy, most compassionate, Who lovest the righteous and hast mercy on sinners, Who callest all to salvation through the promise of good things to come: receive, O Lord, our prayers at this hour, and guide our life toward Thy commandments. Sanctify our souls, make chaste our bodies, correct our thoughts, purify our intentions, and deliver us from every sorrow, evil, and pain. Compass us about with Thy holy Angels, that, guided and guarded by their array, we may attain to the unity of faith, and the knowledge of Thine unapproachable glory; for blessed art Thou unto the ages of ages. Amen.
